Peanut

HAPPY ADOPTION DAY for precious Peanut!

Poor Peanut was dumped on the side of a road along with a male shar pei. Both were picked up by animal services who reached out to us for help. We committed to her knowing she was visually impaired, required immediate bilateral entropion surgery on her eyes, had an umbilical hernia, needed to be spayed and vaccinated.
To our surprise, Peanut was a gem of a dog! On transport into rescue she was as sweet as she could be. Peanut was a lovely patient at the vets, even after multiple visits addressing all her medical issues. She was our office buddy who greeted everyone with a wagging tail and lapped up all the extra attention. Peanut was extraordinary in every good way possible.
We hoped to find an exceptional home to match her incredible character and energy. Since Peanut was happiest out-playing her foster siblings, we focused on applications with younger dogs and an active family.
Peanut caught the attention of many people who fell for her adorable looks, but one couple fell in love and knew she would be a great addition to their pack. The process started with multiple phone conversations, video calls, photos, emails, a perfect vet reference and home visit. They shared their instagram where we could see their current shar pies enjoying various adventures and family vacations. It was truly the best place for a special dog.
Peanut greeted her new family with her usual happy vibe and they met her with open hearts full of love and excited happiness. When she arrived at her new home, the two new siblings greeted her with tail wags and a friendly game of chase. Not only has she settled in seamlessly, but she’s awakened something positive in the other two pei. They run and play like puppies and it’s a joyous, hap-pie home! Happy Adoption Day Peanut, your life just keeps getting better and we are grateful to have been part of that
