Some Good News to kick off the week!
Alfie officially has a Forever Family & Home! Here’s his story….
Alfie was likely from a despicable backyard breeder/puppy mill. He was found abandoned on a road where several other Shar peis have been dumped in the past. Alfie was pretty shut down when he arrived in rescue and struggled to relax. We scheduled his neuter and eye surgery right away. The poor guy often kept his eyes closed otherwise the lashes painfully scratched his corneas.
Alfies had amazing foster siblings who slept close by him for comfort. They also tried to teach him regular doggy activities like playing with toys. He acted like an old soul, calm, gentle and affectionate.
A dog savvy couple who have fostered for their local shelter considered adding Alfie to their family after seeing several posted videos of him. They met him during the home visit and knew he was going to be a great family addition. Alfie explored his new home with a tail up high. Once adopted, he settled in quietly and to our surprise, bounced out of his shell! Alfie is living his best life enjoying puppy zoomies and throwing around toys!
We’re thrilled to have been part of his healing journey but even more thrilled he’s in a loving home who brings out the best in him!
